Activities
For all our activities, we provide qualified Leaders and the gear – this means you just gather your participants and arrive ready to get wet, have fun and try something new!
At SWASH, we have a team with the right qualifications to sign off OAS progressions and support people get their Scout Adventurous Activities or VET qualifications.
To Make a Booking
You can book into our activities either by yourself or as part of a group. To book, either:
WATER ACTIVITY DAY
Water activity days are aimed at giving everyone the experience of canoeing, power boating and sailing on Sydney Harbour
- No experience is necessary
- Sausage sizzle provided for lunch
- Suitable for all sections and Leaders
BASIC WATER RESCUES
Basic water rescues are required to achieve Trained Participant in a number of the water disciplines or take youth members swimming in unpatrolled flatwater environments
- You must be able to swim 200m without a PFD to participate
- Suitable for Venturers, Rovers and Leaders
CANOE COURSES
We run a range of canoe courses for participants to learn and develop their canoeing skills and gain OAS progressions and/or Safe or Trained Participant

SAILING COURSE
Sailing courses are aimed at teaching the skills required to achieve safe or trained participant in sailing small boats in smooth water and light to moderate wind conditions
- No experience is necessary
- Sausage sizzle provided for lunch
- Suitable for Scouts, Venturers, Rovers and Leaders
SOCIAL CANOEING
Social canoeing is aimed at participants practicing paddling skills, exploring different paddling areas and meeting new people
- Must have some canoeing experience
- Suitable for Scouts, Venturers, Rovers and Leaders
TRY SAILING AFTERNOON
Try sailing afternoons are aimed at providing participants with the experience of sailing on Sydney Harbour with a qualified skipper

CANOE RPL
Canoe RPL is aimed at members who are experienced canoeists, have a logbook and want their skills and experience to be recognised to achieve safe or trained participant in Flat Water or moving water Up to Grade 1 Rivers

SAILING RPL
Sailing RPL is aimed at members who are experienced sailors, have a logbook and want their skills and experience to be recognised to achieve safe or trained participant
