Established in 1973, the Scouts NSW Water Activity Centre in Woolwich continues to offer activities and training in paddling, sailing and power boating to Scouts from across NSW.

Affectionately known as SWASH (Scouts Water Activities Sydney Harbour) it is situated on Onions Point Reserve Woolwich in Sydney Harbour and is at the door to one of Australia’s most iconic settings, only 4km from the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

We have a fleet of powerboats, sailing boats and canoes. In 2023, we replaced our Corsair’s with a fleet of new RS Quest sailing boats and our safety boats with modern RIBS.

Our team who run the different canoeing, sailing, and power boating activities are all Scout volunteers who have passion for providing water activities in a fun and supportive environment, including:

  • Providing opportunities to experience new adventurous water activities
  • Supporting youth members to gain OAS progressions
  • Supporting youth members, adult helpers and Leaders gain qualifications
  • Providing Leadership opportunities to youth through joining the team
  • Supporting events like Sirius Cup and Port Neptune Regatta
